Sad news! My dog died sometime last night. He was 13 years old, and had been having so many problems. I took him to the vet yesterday. The vet said he was in a lot of pain and put him on a morphine type med. My guess is that he had a reaction of sorts. He had pretty much quit eating the last few days, but was still drinking water. I will miss him terribly! He had been my best friend from day 1.

This just in!!! My "baby" son finished 100 miles today...of the Houston 150. His legs are "a little" sore. He has 85 miles to do tomorrow. Only 11 days until I visit him in Houston, and watch him walk with his PhD. Can't wait!
Easter was fun and BIG, this year! There were so many people, we had to use an extra table. The food, per usual, was great. My sisters went all out to prepare gourmet appetizer, soups, salads. I did the entree, and my niece from Tucson did the dessert. We decided to not do the traditional Easter egg hunt, but instead, decorated Easter cookies, played a game, told Easter jokes, had a "Judas" quiz (AKA The Book of Judas), read abt the Resurrection from Matthew...And the ladies were given a hand crafted Easter earring box. My brother had edited his video from the St Pat's Day party and we re-lived that. (He did a great job of filming the two dancers from Riverdance.) My brother in law, who does NOT like gourmet food, actually ate with us. He usually stops by "In and Out Burger" on the way home......... Work is still TOO stressful, and I gave my verbal resignation a couple of weeks ago. My boss came out to do a training on Tuesday, and said I would be moved to another facility early May, and to please not quit. I have contacted my Union, and my EEOC. Hopefully, I will be moved before I feel the need to file charges. My kids are doing surprisingly well, and my staff are happy...... My interns' supervisors came out last week. They said their student's were very happy working with me, and had learned a bunch. They will be setting me up with some on-line teaching in one of the Master's programs........ My second job has changed owners a couple of times in the last few months. Each time, it is new paperwork, a late paycheck, and unhappy staff. I, however, am VERY happy there, and would like to stay as long as I can....... Life goes on! I am looking forward to visiting with my son in 2 weeks. Doggie will be in a kennel for abt a week, but I'm sure will fare well.

Now This Is REAL News!!!
Star Trek Franchise Set for Revival
2008 Film to Be Directed by Man Behind 'Lost'
Reuters
LOS ANGELES (April 21) - More than three years after the last "Star Trek" movie crashed at the box office, the venerable sci-fi franchise is being revived by the director of the upcoming "Mission: Impossible" sequel, Daily Variety reported in its Friday edition. The as-yet-untitled "Star Trek" feature, the 11th since 1979, is aiming for a fall 2008 release through Paramount Pictures, the Viacom Inc. unit looking to restore its box-office luster under new management, the trade paper said. The project will be directed by J.J. Abrams, whose Tom Cruise vehicle "Mission: Impossible III" will be released by Paramount on May 5. Abrams, famed for producing the TV shows "Alias" and "Lost," will also help write and produce. Daily Variety said the action would center on the early days of "Star Trek" characters James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock, including their first meeting at Starfleet Academy and first outer-space mission.
The paper described "Star Trek" as Hollywood's most durable performer after James Bond, spawning 10 features that have grossed more than $1 billion and 726 TV episodes from six series. The 10th film, "Star Trek: Nemesis," bombed at the box office on its December 2002 release, earning just $43 million in North America. Last year, Viacom-owned broadcast network UPN pulled the plug on the low-rated series "Star Trek: Enterprise" following a four-season run.

Things are rolling along. My chiropractor is now seeing my dog. Doggie is not as stiff, and hopefully, we will get his back paws so that he can actually walk again. He is still the happy doggie, and forgets that he is lame, so tries to run, and then falls, which makes things worse. My upper back feels better, but I am still in pain in the lower back. Today's massage is looked forward to. My kid in the State psych ward will be kept there...thank goodness. I have another kid who was dx with bone cancer of the leg. He will be in the hospital for the next 6 months. They will try an aggressive chemo-therapy, before amputation. I think I will bring him an Easter basket. We never have to look far to see someone much worse off than we are! It is an on-going spiritual experience for me. My family is looking forward to Easter, and I will take some time off next week to help prepare and clean house. Looking forward to a bigger crowd this year, and may have to set up several tables. I have cookies in Easter shapes that the children can decorate, some Easter jokes, and a game. Looking forward to it!

The St Patty's Day party was too cool. Great decorations, great food, great guests, great Irish dancing. The team of dancers were mentioned in the newspaper the following Thursday. The lead male and female had been in Riverdance. The female has her own studio in Europe. The male has his studio here in AZ, and his protege will go to Belfast for the World Irish Competition. Anyhow, it was the best BDay party I've attended. Family DID fly in from NY, and drove over from CA. I was on call that week and on Sunday night/Monday AM, was called every 30 minutes (per policy) abt youth trying to hang themselves. There is a BIG shake-up where I work, and people are being transferred, demoted, etc. Then, I had a kid who threatened to murder a whole bunch of people, so we transferred him to the State hospital. I hope he gets stabilized, and gets "cured" of his psychosis, otherwise, I will be at the top of his hit list...and that is not a joke. And my body has decompensated some. My back is in spasm, so I have sought the help of a chiropractor...complete with a weekly massage. The X-Rays show "severe" arthritis, in the front of my neck only. Go figure on that one! Anyhow, some manipulations and a massage later, I feel bunches better.
