Had a telephone interview today with the TX people. Interestingly, they were most impressed by my experience in substance abuse, and wanted me to train them in this area. I had been anxious about possible questions re: my assessment experience, which is extensive, but over 10 years ago. I knew I would not cut it, if this was an area of emphasis. It wasn't. And interestingly, the head hunter organization was concerned that I had been in tx 23 years ago. They wanted proof of completion of tx, which I did not have. They wanted me to phone the hospital, and get documentation from them. I explained that records are not kept for more than 7-10 years. Anyhow, I phoned the hospital and they laughed ... no records available. So, while it was an area of concern (a flaw) for the head hunters, it was an asset for the TX people. So they want me, and now I have to wait another 4 wk (at a mininum) to be credentialed by them. I have learned that I have to take disappointments (percieved setbacks) in stride. Life has taught me that you never know how it will all turn out. On another note, my Navy nephew will be in town this weekend, with his family. He is being transferred to an AFB (go figure on that one) and is in transit. I am SO very proud of my family, neices and nephews. They are just awesome! My neice just made Phi Beta Kappa. Another nephew is the security manager for the largest store (in a chain of stores)in AZ. Another nephew is teaching Special Ed. A neice is adopting a bi-racial, handicapped child. Basically, they are leaders and assets to society. They are polite, respectful, and just all around good people. It doesn't get any better than that. My brother will be in town again to celebrate another family members BDay. I am so grateful for my family.
