Just had a job offer in the N part of the state, 1 day/week. I will have to discuss this with them in more detail. It is in an area where there are a lot of leisure activities, and if they are willing to pay for my mileage and overnight stay, it could really be a paid vacation. We'll see! Had a nice Memorial Day visit with family yesterday. My mother made her famous German chocolate cake. Wonderful! I brought a salad from a "Sunset" magazine recipe. OK, nothing to write home abt. My sister had her usual HUGE food affair. My brother-in-law BBQed. They had several neighbors over, lots of kids in the pool. AND the weather was incredible! The coolest Memorial Day I've seen in many years. The day before, I had rec'd a card from one of the soldiers I sponsor in Iraq. That REALLY made the weekend for me...and my family. We are very patriotic! My mother sponsors soldiers who are just being deployed from a military base, and gave me several tips as to what I could send oversees. My soldier is in "The Zone"...no mail, no email. I wanted to send her bubble bath and chocolates, but was told they only get a 10 min shower, and the chocolate would be soup by the time it reached her. Will think abt this some more. Enjoying my TIVO. It seems to think it has psychic abilities, and records cartoons, Spanish stations, etc. Interesting! Looking fwd to taking my Mom to a Flamenco dancing/Spain type dinner theater in 2 weeks. My brother just returned from a great fishing, sightseeing, business trip in Guam. Says he can't wait to go back. I had heard the fishing was awesome!

Had a business trip to Tucson yesterday, and stopped at the closest Eegees. Fond memories! I could not believe the boom in N Tucson...new houses, malls, hospital. Anyhow, the supposedly psychotic kid was no more psychotic than I am. He is facing adult charges and hoped that if he could prove he is crazy, he would not have to go into the adult system. Actually, he will fit right in! Had a great BDay party at the Culinary Institute. They had changed their menu to something very close to B's. The food was excellent, again. I had a watercress salad, a lobster terrine, filet mignon, creme brulee. We had SO much fun..we laughed until we cried, the whole night. Gma said it reminded her of being with her sisters. We ALL agreed that it was so comforting to be with family. Gma's BDay will be in two weeks, and we are going to a Flamenco dance/dinner club. I will be taking my nephew to the Science Ctr this weekend to study animal physiology...and watch the latest IMAX movie. I am still enjoying my new job. It was beginning to appear that I would have ALL of the facility dumped on me, but the other psychologist will not be moving to another job! Thank goodness. However, I have already become a evil person to some of the staff, as I am wanting them to do their jobs. The Feds will be onsite in another week, and we need to have our acts together.

I am still enjoying the "new" work place. Much less stress, more easy going. I am SO grateful!! I had broken out in hives on my back and neck due to the stress, and now that has just disappeared. Tomorrow, we go to the Culinary Institute to celebrate a family member's B-Day. The food there has always been super...however, not nearly as delicious as B's (the chefs from the French Laundry). I will take my son and daughter to B's over the Thanksgiving holidays. They will LOVE it!!! Anyhow, tomorrow will be fun. We had originally ordered a limo and show at one of the casinos, but did not have enough ladies to make it worthwhile, so cancelled out. And, I have to go to Tucson on business Thursday. Maybe, I can find an Eggees... somewhere, somehow. Still missing my doggie, every day. He was a wonderful companion and friend.

Yesterday was my last day at the old place.....Yea!!!! Found out that the homicidal kid will be released back to the "old place" next week, from the State Mental Ward. He hasn't changed and wrote another letter stating he would kill everyone, naming the individuals. I argued w my boss, to no avail. Glad to be out of there. Wonder how long the new doc will stay, it is such a mess! One person from the "old place" told me to watch my back at the "new place" that I would be bullied by a certain person, and that this person is on a power trip, and holds a grudge. Sounds like lots of other people I know, and a surprise coming from a person who bullies, is on a power trip, and holds a grudge. Guess it takes one to know one! I was to have off Monday, and work 4-10s, but now the boss wants me there on Monday. No problem. Looking fwd to it! Can't wait to hang w the other docs. No problems at this "kid" place compare to the "adult" place I worked at for 7 years! There hasn't been a stabbing, hostage situation ever in the "kids" place. Going up north tomorrow to watch my nephew graduate. Will hang w family this afternoon and watch my youngest nephew compete in a swim match. He out swims kids much older than him. My baby hero! He has always been the delight of my life. Started walking again this AM, and lifting weights. Its about time!

Back from Houston. It was a super trip...always wonderful to be with my son and exceptional daughter-in-law. And, another enjoyable visit with her family. I feel so much pride in both of my sons, what they have done and are doing with their lives. Came home to crisis at both jobs, phone messages of panic, "Come fix this person, NOW!" I immediately realized why I feel so stressed ALL the time. Retirement may come VERY soon!
